Edgbaston once again proved why it is the true home of T20 cricket as Finals Day 2025 delivered everything fans could have wished for - drama, records, and an atmosphere that will live long in the memory.
The day began with Somerset overcoming Lancashire in the first semi-final. It was a tight contest, but Somerset’s bowlers held their nerve to secure a 23-run win and book their place in the showpiece final. Hampshire followed them through after defeating Northamptonshire by six wickets in a rain-shortened match, powered by their top-order hitting and, most memorably, Chris Lynn’s extraordinary century - the first ever Finals Day hundred. His unbeaten 108 lit up Edgbaston and had the Hollies Stand bouncing.
That set the stage for a blockbuster final between Somerset and Hampshire. Hampshire batted first and looked in complete control, with Toby Albert hammering 85 and captain James Vince adding a stylish half-century to take them to a daunting total of 194. It felt like the trophy might be heading south. But Somerset had other ideas. Will Smeed produced one of the great Finals Day innings, smashing 94 from just 58 balls. Supported calmly by Sean Dickson and guided by the ever-reliable Lewis Gregory, Somerset pulled off the highest successful run chase in a Blast final, finishing on 195 with six wickets in hand and an over to spare. The celebrations were wild, and as Gregory launched the winning runs, the noise around Edgbaston was deafening. Somerset lifted their third T20 Blast trophy in style.
The cricket was spectacular, but the atmosphere made it unforgettable. The Hollies Stand was its usual carnival - costumes, chants, and non-stop energy - while the rest of the ground rose and fell with every boundary and wicket. Finals Day has a theatre-like quality, and 2025 was no exception.
Away from the middle, those who experienced Keith Prowse hospitality enjoyed an equally unforgettable day. In the Warwickshire Suite, Michelin-starred chef Tom Shepherd created a menu that matched the occasion with flair and creativity. Guests dined in style, with restaurant-quality dishes and attentive service, before stepping out onto private balcony seating to take in the cricket.
The views were exceptional, stretching across Edgbaston’s famous amphitheatre, and the buzz of the crowd filtered perfectly into the suite. Elsewhere, the Skyline offered a vibrant, social space with equally stunning views, proving that Finals Day is about much more than just the cricket - it’s a full-day experience.
Now, attention turns to 2026. We are delighted to announce that you can now purchase a Keith Prowse VIP experience for next year’s Finals Day!
